Calla ("we", "our", or "us") operates the AI answering service available at usecalla.ca. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose information when you use our service, and outlines your rights under applicable Canadian privacy law, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
By using Calla, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you have questions, contact us at hello@usecalla.ca.
When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and password (managed securely by Clerk). During onboarding we also collect your business name, business phone number, timezone, and phone type (cell, landline, or VoIP).
We collect information you provide about your business — including a voice recording, AI-generated business summary, frequently asked questions, custom greeting, service areas, hours, and pricing — for the purpose of configuring your AI answering agent.
When your Calla AI line receives a call, we record and process the conversation to generate a call summary, caller name, caller phone number, sentiment, urgency level, callback details, and transcript. This data is stored in your call log and used to send you notifications.
Payment details are collected and processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number. We store your Stripe customer ID, subscription status, plan, and billing dates.
We track minute usage against your plan's monthly allocation. We also use third-party analytics and advertising-measurement tools (see Section 3) to understand visitor behaviour on our marketing website and measure the performance of our ad campaigns.
If you opt in to SMS notifications during onboarding, we collect and store your mobile number for the purpose of sending call alerts. You can withdraw consent at any time from your dashboard settings.
We use the information we collect to:
We do not use your account, business profile, or call data for advertising purposes, and we do not sell your personal information to third parties. Our marketing website uses analytics and ad-conversion tracking as described in Section 3.

When a caller reaches your Calla AI line, their voice is processed by Retell AI and OpenAI to generate a transcript and call summary. Callers are not required to consent to recording through our platform — it is your responsibility as a Calla subscriber to comply with applicable recording consent laws in your province and industry.
Caller names and phone numbers captured during calls are stored in your account's call log. This data is visible only to you and is not shared with other Calla users or third parties beyond what is described in Section 3.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Call logs are displayed for up to 90 days or 100 calls in your dashboard; underlying records may be retained longer for operational purposes.
If you cancel your subscription, your account and associated data are scheduled for deletion 60 days after cancellation. You may request earlier deletion by contacting us at hello@usecalla.ca.
By opting in to SMS notifications during onboarding, you consent to receive text messages from Calla regarding call activity on your account. Message frequency depends on your call volume. Standard message and data rates may apply.
You can opt out at any time by toggling off SMS notifications in your dashboard settings, or by replying STOP to any message we send. For help, reply HELP or contact us at hello@usecalla.ca.
We comply with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). We will never send you commercial messages without your express consent.
